Five years ago, in 2009, I moved into a house with a relatively large garden and an almost 50-year-old tree, a huge cedar. We quickly discovered that squirrels live in this cedar and were always happy when we got to see them briefly. However, this was always only for a few moments, to quickly get up the tree or to look for a nut in the garden. But since the squirrels also went to our birdhouse from time to time, we decided in the fall of 2012 to build our own feeding station for them. We had informed ourselves on the Internet that it is very important that the Plexiglas (transparent plastic part at the front) has a gap to the roof, and this is very often not the case.
We hung this feeding station on our cedar and it was accepted within a very short time. So we had now also a great photo motif. Yes, and then in June 2013, I saw for the first time the offspring of our squirrels, a red and a brown squirrel. Of course we were overjoyed! Since there were not really many squirrel books at the time, I have read a lot of information and tips on the Internet. And in a forum, where I shared my squirrel photos from time to time, the idea to start a squirrel blog was born. To share my knowledge about squirrels and of course to share the photos of our Sulzbach squirrel family, as we called them in the meantime. This idea was very well received and now it is finally ready.
Welcome to the squirrel blog, I hope my tips are helpful to you!
And the blog and Willi now have their own logo, made by myself:
Greetings
